A cooperative project of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, and the March of Dimes Foundation, launched nationally in 1972. The Stork’s Nest aims to increase the number of women receiving early and regular prenatal care in an effort to prevent cases of low birth-weight, premature births, and infant deaths.
The Alpha Pi Zeta Chapter members provide thousands of volunteer hours helping expected mothers have a happy and healthy pregnancy while giving birth to healthy babies. The focus is to offer free pre-natal education classes in English and Spanish. We further increase the number of women receiving early and regular prenatal care through education, and perform all follow up appointments. Our chapter provides information and referrals to community resources to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of mothers and their families.
The Stork’s Nest is operating at two different locations to serve the San Antonio area community. Alpha Pi Zeta Chapter members along with San Antonio Area partners operate at the Crestway Stork’s Nest every Tuesday from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm located at 8455 Crestway Dr., Ste. #19, Converse, Texas 78109. The second location is at 5253 Walzem Rd., Ste. #2, San Antonio, Texas 78218 every Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm.
